Background to the Business Affairs Service PDF Print E-mail

Since the nineties, the entertainment industry sector in South Africa, has gradually been evolving into a more professional, more industrialised sector in which the rights, income performance, skills development and equity of creators and owners of intellectual property (ie: musicians, artists, photographers, writers etc) are being greater acknowledged and valued.

The changing political environment awoke in people the need to reclaim their cultural heritage, the need to want to be acknowledged for their contribution to society, the need to understand their rights, and most importantly, their rights to earn money from their work. Nisa, seeing the needs in the market, was established with the principle purpose of using expertise to fill the knowledge gaps in the entertainment industry sector.  Initially established to service the needs of musicians, Nisa's services have found resonance in other sectors of the entertainment industry as a whole.
